Haskell Arrest Magistration Timing
After a Haskell County arrest, staff verify custody authority, record property and biographical details, take fingerprints and a photo, screen health and security needs, and enter charges and the arresting agency. A magistrate then gives warnings, reviews probable cause, and sets bond or conditions. Custody continues until bond, court order, sentence, transfer, or release.
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 15.17 generally requires that an arrested person be taken before a magistrate without unnecessary delay and no later than 48 hours. That is a magistration deadline, not a promise of release within 48 hours. A warrantless arrest needs prompt probable-cause review. A warrant arrest points back to an issuing court and warrant or capias. In either path, the arrest charge may change when prosecutors review the facts.
Arrests Are Not Convictions

TDCJ provides no-charge email and telephone fallbacks when the online state search is not enough. Email pia@tdcj.texas.gov with the full name and seven-digit TDCJ number. If that number is unknown, give the exact date of birth or approximate age and county of conviction. Available fields can include the number, location, present and prior conviction offense, county, court, and projected release date. TDCJ does not provide the photo or Social Security number through that email route.
